Israel arrested since the outbreak of the Quds Intifada 3,847 Palestinians from October 2015 to January 2016, a Palestinian official said on Thursday.

The arrestees included 1,631 children, Head of the Census Department of the Palestinian Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs Abdel Nasser Ferwana said.

All Palestinian detainees are tortured and maltreated at Israeli prisons, he added.

The arrests targeted all Palestinian age brackets and territories without exception, he noted.
