The Arab League welcomed a deal reached by Iran and the six world powers on Iran's nuclear program and said it conforms with its efforts to free the Middle East of nuclear weapons.
The League's Secretary General Mohammad Subaih said in a statement to reporters, that the Arab League was following up on negotiations between Iran and the six powers, noting that the deal will pave the way for putting an end to nuclear arm race in the region.
He stressed the need to pressure Israel to open its nuclear facilities for international inspection and sign the treaty on the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons.
