The European Union Tuesday said that its Election Observation Mission in Mali found that the second round of presidential polls on Sunday was held in a \"credible and transparent manner.\" \"Mali has just taken a very important step in the process of restoring constitutional order,\" said EU High Representative Catherine Ashton in a statement. She called all candidates and all parties involved to accept the election results and support the Government to build a lasting peace and restore national unity. The European Union, the main partner of Mali, will continue to stand with all Malians and their legitimate authorities to support these efforts, added Ashton. Reportedly the election has been won by former Prime Minister Ibrahim Boubacar Keita.
