People have been evacuated from homes

Dozens of Palestinian homes were submerged by water in the central Gaza Strip after Israel opened a dam, releasing water that flooded a district in the blockaded coastal enclave, the Gaza civil defence service said in a statement.
More than one hundred families were evacuated from the Maghraqa district after water from the dam inundated the area, added the statement.
The Al-Wafa Rehab Hospital and elderly care centre in Gaza's Shejaiya neighbourhood said it has taken in 13 families seeking safety after their homes were flooded.
