Gaza City - MENA
Hamas said Tuesday it has clinched a long-time ceasefire agreement with Israel, saying Egypt will be making an official announcement shortly.
Negotiator Moussa Abu Marzouk said the deal to end seven weeks of fighting that has left more than 2,200 people dead would be announced shortly.
Deputy chairman of Hamas' Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh said the agreement crowned the Palestinian people's resistance.
It is expected that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will announce the ceasefire deal and its details at 7 p.m.
The Palestinians said Israel had agreed to ease its blockade on Gaza and open the crossings.
Both sides will hold another round of indirect negotiations after a month on the rest of pending issues such as the airport, the port, and prisoners.
