Iranian Majlis

The Iranian Majlis (parliament) voted Tuesday for a motion to oblige the government to rescind the nuclear agreement reached with the P5+1 in Geneva two years ago if Washington imposed additional sanctions on Tehran.
The motion, passed in the first reading by 173 votes against nine with five abstentions, aims to safeguard the country's nuclear achievements, according to local media.
It stated that if the US Congress approves new measures against Iran, the Islamic Republic must scrap the Geneva deal and enhance the uranium enrichment activities to the pre-deal level.
