Jeddah - KUNA
Nuclear trilateral talks kicked off here on Sunday involving Iran, US and the EU to clear hurdles ahead of a major round of talks planned in Vienna on November 18.
The trilateral talks involve Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, US Secretary of State John Kerry and spokesperson for former EU foreign policy chief and special representative for the Iran talks Catherine Ashton.
The main objective of the negotiations is to reach a deal that ensures the Iranian nuclear program is of a solely peaceful nature, and without a military aspect.
The Muscat and Vienna meetings will take place in advance of a November 24 deadline for a final nuclear deal between Iran and the P5+1 group -- Britain, China, France, Russia and the United States plus Germany.
