Israeli forces arrested four worshipers at Al Aqsa Mosque

Israeli forces arrested four worshipers at Al Aqsa Mosque early Sunday, an official at the Islamic Waqf Department said.

Three of the arrestees are from South Africa and the other is from Jenin.

Israeli forces opened Al Magharba Gate to let in extremist Jews contrary to what is applied in the last 10 days of the holy fasting month of Ramadan when the gate is totally closed to any Jewish visitor, Firas el Debs said.

The forces fired sound and rubber-coated bullets and beat up worshipers, wounding five of them, he added.

Al Aqsa Mosque compound in Jerusalem has become a flashpoint of the escalating conflict between Palestinians and Israelis in recent months in light of the almost daily provocative tours of settlers to the mosque compound.
