Israel said it was revoking permits for 500 Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to enter East Jerusalem (Al-Quds) for Friday prayers, Palestinian sources told.

Israel claimed the decision was because of rocket fire from the Palestinian enclave on Tuesday.

Israel has said it would ease restrictions on Palestinians seeking to enter Jerusalem for Friday prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque, Islam's third-holiest site, for Ramadan.
