Israel Detains 15 Palestinians in West Bank, Jerusalem

Israeli forces Monday detained 10 Palestinians from across the West Bank districts of Nablus, Bethlehem, and Hebron, in addition to five others from the Jerusalem area, according to the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS).

PPS said Israeli soldiers detained five Palestinians in the Nablus area. They were identified as Aziz Thawabteh, 30, 'Omair Abu 'Amsha, 19, Ashraf Aqtam, 22, Kamel Snobar, 37, and Hussain Merdawi, 50.

In Bethlehem’s town of Beit Fajjar, forces detained two locals identified as Mohammed Shahadeh, 21, and Mohammed al-Kar, 23; the brother of Ali, who was shot dead by Israeli army in mid March, after he purportedly carried out a stabbing attack, which left a female soldier injured, near the West Bank district of Salfit.

In al-Judeira town to the northwest of Jerusalem, police detained Qosay Atyeh, and Mahmoud Shahadeh, 19. Police further detained four other Palestinians from across the Jerusalem area.

They were identified as Ahmad al-Sherbati, 16, Hamzeh Melhef, 21, Omar Zghayar, 20, and Ghaith Ghaith, 24.

In the meantime, 14-year-old Zuhair Bassa was detained from inside his family’s home in Izzariyeh, a town southeast of Jerusalem.

In Hebron’s al-Aroub Refugee Camp, forces detained a local identified as Kareem Abu Sel, after raiding, searching, and wreaking havoc into his family’s home.
