Israeli forces detained 71 Palestinian fishermen off the shores of Gaza in 2015.

As many as 24 fishermen were also wounded in Israeli attacks on Palestinian fishing boats last year, according to a report by the Palestinian Human Rights Council.

Sixteen boats were damaged in the Israeli attacks and 22 were confiscated by Israeli troops in 2015, the report said Monday.

Israeli forces repeatedly open fire at Palestinian fishermen along the Gaza Strip coast.
