The Palestinian Foreign Affairs Ministry urged the international community on Wednesday to start an immediate action to safeguard occupied Jerusalem and its holy sites through adopting measures to stop the Israeli settlement activities in the city.

The ministry called for holding Israel accountable for its grave violations and saving the two-state solution and establishing peace.

In a statement, carried by the Palestinian News Agency (WAFA), the ministry said it monitors seriously the Israeli escalation against occupied Jerusalem, holding the Israeli government fully responsible for these actions.
