Rafah - Arab Today
Israeli military bulldozers Tuesday morning infiltrated Gaza borders and razed agricultural lands to the east of Rafah city in southern Gaza Strip.
WAFA correspondent reported that bulldozers under a military escort infiltrated Gaza borders, indiscriminately opening fire at Palestinian houses although there were no reports of casualties.
Soldiers escorted bulldozers across the border and razed agricultural lands belonging to Palestinians to the east of the city.
In its Gaza Situation Report 137 (22-29 March 2016), the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) documented at least three infiltration cases of Israeli bulldozers into the Gaza Strip to conduct leveling and excavation operations.
Another weekly report by the Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR) said that the illegal closure of the Gaza Strip, which has been steadily tightened since June 2007 has had a disastrous impact on the humanitarian and economic situation in the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli authorities impose measures to undermine the freedom of trade, including the basic needs for the Gaza Strip population and the agricultural and industrial products to be exported.
For 10 consecutive years, Israel has tightened the land and imposed a naval closure on Gaza, isolating it from the West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem, and other countries around the world.
