Israeli Forces Detain 17 Palestinians from West Bank

Israeli forces detained overnight 17 Palestinians, including two construction workers, from a number of West Bank districts, said security sources and a detainee’s relative.

Five Palestinians were detained from Qalqiliya district, four others from Hebron, two others from Bethlehem district, two others from Jerusalem district, two others from Nablus district and two others from Jenin distinct.

In the northern West Bank district of Qalqiliya, forces detained five Palestinians after breaking into and ransacking their houses in Azzun town, east of the city.

The detainees were identified as Abdul-Hafiz Odwan, Yahya Abu-Haniyeh, Wad Odwan, Sa'id Abu-Haniyeh and Mustafa Radwan.

Meanwhile in the southern West Bank district of Hebron, forces detained four Palestinians during overnight raids into the southern residential area of Hebron city and Yatta town, south of the city.

The detainees were identified as Muhammad Abu-Hadid, 30, Naser Abu-Hadid, 23, Ya'qoub al-Za'arir, 35, and Khalid al-Jundi.

To the north of Hebron, in Bethlehem district, forces re-detained Youssef Ghneim, 31, after storming and ransacking his house in al-Khader town, south of the city.

Another Palestinian was detained as he was attempting to cross al-Container military checkpoint, northeast of Bethlehem city.

The detainee was identified as Marwan Khalifa from al-Ubeidiya town, east of the city.

Meanwhile, Israeli police detained two Palestinian workers from Jerusalem city, north of Bethlehem, purportedly for lack of entry permits.

The detainees were identified as Muhammad Mousa and Muhammad Issa, in their 20s.

In the meantime, forces detained two Palestinians after storming their houses in an overnight dawn into Iraq Burin village, southwest of Nablus city.

The detainees were identified as Ahmad Faqih and Asem Faqih.

During the raid, forces broke into and ransacked several houses, including the family house of Aqil Faqih and Fathi Faqih.

To the north of Nablus, in Jenin district, Israeli forces raided al-Araqa and Ya'bad towns, detaining at least two after breaking into and ransacking their family houses.

A Palestinian detained from al-Araqa town was identified as Ikrima Yahya, 23.

Another Palestinian detained from Ya'bad town was identified as Shaher Hamarsha, 28.

During the overnight raid into Ya'bad, forces stormed at least four houses belonging to Abdul-Karim Abu-Baker, Talib Badarneh, Nizar Atatra and Amjad Atatra.

Forces also briefly detained and interrogated a number of locals who were on their way back from a local mosque to their houses following dawn prayers.
