Israeli occupation forces, along with a group of extremist Jewish settlers, stormed Wednesday al Aqsa mosque, under the protection of Israeli police.

Dozens of settlers entered from Al Magharba gate and took provocative tours in Islam's third holiest site, eyewitnesses said.

Tension has been mounting in Islam's third holiest site ahead of the Jewish holiday of Passover, amid calls to storm the mosque on the holiday.
