Groups of extremist Israeli settlers on Sunday stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram al-Sharif compound, in the occupied holy city of Jerusalem, entering through the Bab Al-Magharebah gate. 
The Al- Aqsa Foundation for Endowment and Heritage said in a statement that the settlers provocatively toured Al-Aqsa yards and performed their Talmudic rites under the protection of Israeli soldiers. 
A state of high tension prevails inside the mosque among Muslim worshippers, the statement added.
