Jewish settlers on Wednesday renewed their storming of Al Aqsa mosque complex from Bab el Maghreba gate under the protection of the Israeli occupation police units.

A number of Palestinian youths had spent the night in the mosque to prevent entry of the Jewish settlers.

The Israeli forces tried to bring them out but failed in their mission and threatened to arrest them.

Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation forces stationed at the mosque gates prevented women and youths from entering the mosque, forcing some women to chant anti-occupation slogans to protest the move in front of Ban Al Selsela gate.

Palestinians and Israeli forces have clashed in the precincts of Al-Aqsa Mosque for a third straight day, as Israeli forces were seen on the roof of the holy site.

At least 36 Palestinians were injured in the clashes on Tuesday.

The site of the mosque is revered as holy by Jews and Muslims and is a frequent flashpoint of violence.

Wide areas of the mosque carpeting have been burned as a result of the Israeli police firing bombs, bullets and tear gas canisters inside the mosque compound.

Teams of the Islamic Waqfs in the holy site on Wednesday resumed their inspection of the damage caused by the Israeli forces at Al-Qibli mosque, its historic windows and carpets.
