Groups of Jewish settlers on Monday broke into Islamic holy shrines west of Awarta village in the West Bank city of Nablus.
Head of the Awarta council Hani Darawsheh said in a statement that a group of extremist Jewish settlers broke into the village at dawn under the protection of the Israeli soldiers.
The settlers headed towards the Islamic shrines in the village to perform their Talmudic rituals, the statement added.
The Awarta village has been under regular attacks by extremist settlers who storm Muslims holy places to do their Talmudic rites in a provocative manner.
