Nigerian Army said its troops have killed 20 militants of Islamist organization Boko Haram in the north-east of the country. According to the BBC, one government soldier was killed in a shootout in the Nigerian northeastern town of Maiduguri. Boko Haram has recently carried out numerous raids on churches and other targets in Nigeria. The group wants to establish Islamic law in the country, whose large Christian and animist population mainly lives in the south.
