Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) failed to reach a mutual understanding on the "structured approach" document at thenuclear talks on Wednesday in the Austrian capital of Vienna. Speaking to the press following the talks which started at Iran's diplomatic permanent mission in the Austrian capital, Iranian Ambassador to the IAEA Ali Asghar Soltanieh said "We had an intense talk with the IAEA but could not reach a mutual understanding. We decided on discussing the proposals of both parties." Soltanieh, stating the negotiations were intense and positive, noted that "It was an intense negotiation but could not reach a deal on the text. We agreed on finalising the document in the next talk. We keep in contact with the Agency to set the date of the next talks." "We have to accept our failure in talks ongoing for one and a half year. We will set the date of the next talks and inform the press later on," Herman Nackaerts, Deputy Director General of the IAEA told reporters. Nackaerts added that the efforts towards the process of negotiation over Iran's nuclear program would continue.
