Palestinian government urges international community to press on Israel to lift siege on Hebron

The Palestinian Unity Government urged the international community and human rights organizations to immediately press on Israeli forces to lift blockade imposed on Hebron province in West Bank.

In statements on Sunday, the government spokesman Youssef el Mahmoud said that Israeli blockade on Hebron and the arrest of Palestinians is part of Israel’s official policy that violates all international norms and laws.

He asserted that Israeli occupation is the reason behind tension and instability in the region.

Earlier, Israeli forces besieged and closed the entries and exits of Hebron province during Eid al-Fitr after an Israeli settler and a Rabbi were killed.
