Palestinian Succumbs to Wounds Sustained in Jerusalem Refugee Camp

A Palestinian man Tuesday succumbed to wounds sustained two weeks earlier during an Israeli raid into Qalandia refugee camp, north of Jerusalem.

Nahed Mteir, 24, succumbed to his wounds after being shot and injured by Israeli forces during a raid into the refugee camp.

Mteir was shot with a live round in his neck. He had been rushed into the Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah before being transferred to Hadassah hospital in Jerusalem.

On March 1, fierce clashes broke out between Palestinian and Israeli forces as the latter raided the refugee camp purportedly in an attempt to extricate two soldiers.

During the raid, soldiers killed 22-year-old Iyad Sajadiyya and injured 15 others. Four Palestinians had been shot and injured with live ammunition, including Mteir. 15 Israeli soldiers were injured during the raid.
