Palestinian President Spokesperson Nabil Abu Rdeinah said Thursday that the Paris conference resembles a new stance of reaffirming the two state solution and the illegality of Israeli settlements.

Abu Rdeinha said in the press statement, which was published on the official Palestinian news agency (WAFA), that the conference is a significant opportunity to ensure the two state solution and the illegality of settlements, especially that the world governments convene in this conference after the recent UN Security Council resolution 2335.

The remarks came in response to statements by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu describing the Paris Conference as "fraud."

The spokesperson said what is required from the international community is to show the Israeli government that its rejection of international legitimacy resolutions will only bring more troubles and instability in the region and the whole world.

"We are ready for peace that would lead to security and stability," said Abu Rdeinah.

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu said in a joint press conference with Norwegian Foreign Minister Borg Brende earlier Thursday that the Paris conference set on Sunday is "a fraud, a Palestinian scam under French auspices, whose goal is to lead to the adoption of additional anti-Israeli positions."

An international peace conference is expected to be held in Paris on Jan. 15, with participation of 70 foreign ministers and UN organizations, but no representatives of Palestinians or Israelis.

Paris hosted an international ministerial meeting on June 3, attended by the foreign ministers of 25 countries, including four Arab countries, which debated the revival of the stalled peace process between Israel and Palestine.

The meeting was held based on an initiative launched by France a few months ago to hold an international conference to look into an international mechanism to end the Palestinian- Israeli conflict based on the two-state solution.

Israel declared it is against the French initiative and said it is committed to bilateral negotiations in order to realize peace without preconditions.

The peace talks between Israel and Palestine have been stalled since April 2014. The U.S.-sponsored talks that lasted for nine months achieved no tangible results.
