South Korea\'s oldest nuclear reactor that experienced an electric glitch last week will go offline for a month to undergo an intensive safety check, a state nuclear power company said Wednesday. The Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co (KHNP) said inspectors will check all systems of the 33-year-old Gori-1 reactor and only authorize a resumption of operations if no problems are found, South Korea\'s news agency (Yonhap) reported. The reactor located in the northeastern part of Busan, South Korea\'s largest port, went into an emergency shutdown on April 12 after a spark and subsequent fire destroyed one of the reactor\'s 27 circuit breakers. The KHNP initially said the malfunction was minor and expected the 587 megawatt reactor to go back online over the weekend.
