South Sudan's former vice president Riek Machar said he was ready to initiate a dialogue with President Salva Kiir, the Sudan Tribune reported Thursday, according to dpa.
Machar said he wanted talks to take place in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, and submitted a list of delegates to a group of East African mediators.
Leaders of several East African nations were meeting Thursday in Juba to try to resolve the South Sudan conflict.
Kiir has expressed a willingness to negotiate an end to the fighting.
