Sudan\'s government officially accepted the overture presented by the Chairman of the African High-level Mechanism Tambo Mbeki to solve the Sudan-South Sudan latest impasse, notably that South Sudan should no longer provide support for Sudan\'s rebels and withdraw its forces from inside Sudan. Abu-Bakr Al-Siddiq, spokesman of the foreign ministry of The Sudan, said in a statement here today that the high-level African mechanism was officially notified of this development, noting that the African proposal includes two major things: that the African Unity authority in charge of borders will be assigned to form a consultative team and that in charge of demilitarized zone to mark the basic line for the demilitarized zone on the ground. Such a measure will be enacted on the 18th of June and last for six months, he added. He also disclosed that the African Mechanism also demanded the two countries to end armed rebellion against both governments as the two administrations were a result of general elections in 2010.
