Gaza bombings target cars of Hamas officials

Suspects of Sunday blasts in Gaza have been arrested, the Hamas-run interior ministry said.

In a statement, spokesman of the ministry Iyad Al Bezm said security officials started an investigation into the blasts.

The spokesman accused "vandals" seeking to destabilize Gaza of carrying out the explosions.

"We assure that the criminals will not escape punishment," he said.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attacks.

Six near-simultaneous explosions in Gaza on Sunday targeted members of the armed branches of Hamas and Islamic Jihad.
