Ukrainian border guard authorities said in a statement on Thursday that Russian combat helicopters violated the country’s borders on several occasions after crossing into the Ukrainian air space on the morning of July 3.
So far, the Russian Defense Ministry has not officially commented on the accusations of the alleged air space violation in Ukraine’s southeastern regions bordering on Russia, Russian News Agency Itar Tass reported.
"Conducting a flight reconnaissance flights as well as demonstrative flights along the Russian-Ukrainian border on July 3, Russian combat helicopters violated the Ukrainian air space on two occasions," the statement said.
"At 8:20 a.m. three Russian helicopters violated the Ukrainian state border near the settlement of Belovodsk in the Luhansk Region, and at 9:20 a.m. three Russian helicopters entered the Ukrainian air space near the Dolzhansky border checkpoint also in the Luhansk Region," the statement said.
