The US-led international coalition launched on Friday airstrikes against Daesh terrorist group in Makhmur town in Iraq.

The air raid left a number of Daesh militants dead and wounded, a Kurdish security source said.

He added that the shelling occurred after the terrorist group targeted a drone of the international coalition that was hovering over the area to inspect the security situation.

He noted that Daesh militants set fire to a number of oil fields in the area to use their black smoke in hiding from coalition aircraft.
