The bilateral friendship between Vietnam and China has great significance in the cause of building socialism in the two countries, said Vietnamese leaders on Monday. The remarks were made by General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong and Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang during a meetings with Hu Chunhua, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Secretary of the Guangdong Provincial CPC Committee, in Vietnam's capital Hanoi. The two Vietnamese leaders spoke highly of the relationship between Vietnam and China as well as the sound momentum of development in cooperation between Vietnam and China's Guangdong province, expressing the willingness to deepen cooperation in all fields and further promote the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries. Hu Chunhua, for his part, said China and Vietnam has achieved fruitful progresses in bilateral ties during the previous year. The purpose of his visit to Vietnam is to continue implementing the important consensus reached by the two countries' leaders, jointly promote the building of the Maritime Silk Road in the 21st Century, and strengthen trade and economic cooperation between Guangdong province and Vietnam, Hu said. On the same day, Hu Chunhua also met with Pham Quang Nghi, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, and co-hosted the China, Guangdong-Vietnam economic and trade cooperation seminar with Pham Binh Minh, Vietnam's deputy prime minister and foreign minister.
