Ahmed Fathy (R) and Gedo are Hull-bound

Ahmed Fathy (R) and Gedo are Hull-bound Cairo - Arabstoday Egyptian club al-Ahly has confirmed that right-back Ahmed Fathy and midfielder Mohamed 'Gedo' Nagy have signed six-month loan deals with English Championship side Hull City. "Ahly reached an agreement with Hull city to loan out Fathy and Gedo for six months,” Football Director Sayed Abdel-Hafiz said in a statement on Wednesday. He revealed that the combined fee was £500,000. Experienced defender Fathy told Ahly's official website that he is delighted with the move to England, adding postponement of the Egyptian Premier League has been a factor in his decision to leave. "I played for English team Sheffield United in 2007 and want to develop as a player in England again," he said. Both Fathy and Gedo are keen to help Hull City in their push for automatic promotion to the English Premier League. The Tigers are sitting third in the table with 50 points, seven adrift of leaders Cardiff City. Egyptian businessman Assem Allam owns the club and has helped push the deals through. The Egyptian Premier League is scheduled to resume on February 2 after a year-long break following the Port Said stadium disaster, but this date may change due to riots after the verdict in the first case.
