The civil defense brigade, reinforced with equipment, was able to control a fire which broke out inside a camp for displaced Syrians at 1:00 am in Bar Elias of Bekaa. The fire ravaged 22 tents out of a total of 185 tents, killing one and wounding many of the camp's residents. One of them was transferred to the Bekaa hospital, while the corps and others wounded were transferred to other hospitals in the area. 


Explosions had been witnessed inside the tents adjacent to each other, resulting from the burning of gas flasks, a thing which led to the rapid spread of fire. 


It is to note that the speedy intervention of the Civil Defense prevented the extension of the fire to the rest of the camp
