Lagos - XINHUA
Nigeria's road commission said Friday 10 people died in a road accident on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway in southwest Ogun State.
State commander for the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) Adegoke Adetunji told reporters in Abeokuta, the state capital, the accident involved two trucks and two commercial vehicles.
Adetunji said corpses of victims had been deposited at the Fakoya Mortuary in Sagamu area of the state, noting that investigation into the accident was underway.
Nigeria records high fatality rates for road accidents mainly due to shoddy highways, poorly maintained vehicles and violation of traffic rules by inept drivers.
