At least 11 people died and dozens more were injured when two passenger buses crashed early Friday in central Vietnam, a policeman said. The traffic police chief in Khanh Hoa province, Phan Long De, said nine people including the two bus drivers died at the scene of the accident and two others died in separate hospitals. Nine passengers remain hospitalized with serious injuries, none of them life threatening. He said one bus was carrying 47 passengers. The number of passengers on the other bus was not immediately known. Police are investigating the cause of the accident. Last year traffic accidents killed nearly 10,000 people in Vietnam, a country with 87 million people.
