A criminal court in Fujeirah sentenced an Emirati man to 14 months in prison after he was caught driving under the influence of alcohol and a psychotropic substance, newspapers said on Tuesday. Police seized A.M.R, 34, as he was driving recklessly near a coffee shop in Dibba last month after receiving complaints from residents, they said. “After his arrest, police noticed he was in a bad condition and his mouth smells of alcohol and a drug substance,” Emirat Al Youm daily said. “They also found a liquor box in his car…the court sentenced him to one year in jail for drug abuse and two months for driving under the influence of alcohol.”
