A motorist and a truck driver died Monday when a bridge collapsed in central Spain following torrential rains, regional officials said. The collapse in Fuencaliente, northeast of Cordoba in Castile-La Mancha province, caused a car and a truck to plunge into the Yeguas River, they said. The driver of the car was aged 23, the officials said, without stating the age of the truck driver. The month of March saw record rain across Spain, causing many rivers to swell, especially in south and central regions. A travel advisory Monday warned of flooding affecting nearly all of Spain's river basins.
