Beirut - Arab Today
An ambiance of tension continued to reign over Ayn El-Helwe Palestinian Camp in Southern Lebanon on Saturday morning, following a night of intense clashes that erupted between armed groups in the camp, leaving two people dead and fifteen others injured.
The clashes continued throughout the night, where sounds of bullets and rocket-propelled grenades were heard, Lebanon's Natoinal News Agency (NNA) reported.
Schools in the camp's vicinity kept their doors closed today for the sake of safety.
The Lebanese army tightened its security measures at the entrances leading to the camp. Due to stray bullets reaching areas outside the camp, the army blocked Sidon's al-Hesbe highway in both directions.
