At least 20 people, including an Afghan MP, were killed and nearly 50 others wounded in a deadly suicide attack today afternoon in northeastern Takhar province, officials said. The suicide bomber detonated his explosives as dozens of prayers, including MP Abdul Mutalib Baig, were offering prayers at the funeral of a tribal elder in the provincial capital, Taloqan, police said.
No party has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
