Four people were killed Monday in a gruesome single-car crash on an expressway on Long Island in New York when their vehicle was cut in half, police said. The crash took place on Southern State Parkway near Exit 7 in West Hempstead, New York's WNBC-TV reported. No reason for the mishap, which happened about 4 a.m., was given. The Subaru left the roadway at high speed and struck a tree, splitting the car in two. WNBC-TV said at least one person was taken to a hospital in unknown condition.
