Almost 600 pounds of cocaine from Central America was discovered Wednesday in two containers at the Italian port of Gioia Tauro, police said. Investigators said one of the containers was to be shipped to northern Italy and the other to Greece, the Italian news agency ANSA reported. Between them, the containers held 262 kilograms (578 pounds) of \"very pure\" cocaine. Gioia Tauro in the Calabrian region is the largest container port on the Mediterranean. The \'Ndrangheta, the powerful Calabrian mob, is believed to use it for many of its drug shipments. So far this year, 829 pounds of cocaine have been seized at the port, ANSA said.
