Abidjan - XINHUA
A violent collision between a truck carrying wood and another carrying sheep left at least ten people dead on Monday along the Abidjan-Yamoussoukro road, eye- witnesses told Xinhua on Tuesday. The eyewitnesses said that the two lorries collided with each other near Pacobo village in the central parts of the country, and left 10 people dead, including both the drivers of the trucks and the people who were transporting their sheep. About 50 sheep that were being transported also died in the accident. Several trucks full of sheep coming from Niger and Mali have in the recent past been heading to Cote d\'Ivoire to supply sheep for the Muslim festival of Tabaski, or the sheep festival, which will be celebrated this Friday. The carelessness of drivers and the poor state of roads constitute some of the main causes of road accidents in Cote d\'Ivoire.
