Mozambique

A provincial lawmaker from Mozambique's opposition movement has been killed by gunmen, jeopardizing peace efforts in a country where sporadic political violence has hurt an already struggling economy, Fox news reported Friday.

Armindo Antonio Nkutche was shot five times while walking to his house in Moatize town in Tete province on Thursday.

There has been no claim of responsibility for Nkutche's death, which could undermine a shaky peace process that includes international mediators.
