Contact with a missing helicopter has been resumed in central Russia, local emergency authorities said Saturday. Earlier in the day, local media reported that an Mi-8 helicopter with 10 people aboard went missing in the central Tomsk region. The Khanty-Mansi regional emergencies authorities received report at about 09:36 local time of the missing helicopter, which was on a flight from Tomsk to Yugra. Following the incident, an Mi-8 helicopter in Nizhnevartovsk and an An-26 plane in the Tomsk region were sent to search for the missing chopper. Later, the missing helicopter crew re-established their contact with the ground control, and there were no emergencies during the flight, Itar-Tass cited a source at the Emergencies Ministry as saying.
