The Russian army has announced that it bombed ISIS sites in areas near the Syrian city of Palmyra. 
Six Tu-22M3 long-range strategic bombers carried out a concentrated attack using high-explosive ammunition on ISIS targets east of Palmyra, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement. 
"As a result of the airstrikes, a large encampment, three ammunition depots, three tanks, four armored vehicles and eight cars equipped with heavy machine guns were destroyed," the statement read.
