Saudi security operation

Two dangerous terrorists were killed in a Saudi security operation in the capital Riyadh on Saturday, state Saudi Press Agency, SPA, reported, citing an Interior Ministry spokesman.

A security officer was also wounded in the operation in the al-Yasmin neighbourhood in northern Riyadh, the agency said.

One of the two Saudi militants was identified by the spokesman as Taye' bin Salim bin Yaslam al-Say'ari who was being sought as an expert in making explosive belts used by ISIL (Daesh) militants in suicide attacks. He was wanted for involvement in last year’s terrorist attack on a mosque in Asir province.

The other militant was identified as Talal bin Samran Al Saedi.

Following a shootout, two explosive belts, a locally-made grenade and two small basins of chemicals suspected to be used in making explosives were seized in the operation, the agency said.
