UN chief voices concern over Daesh expansion in Libyan cities

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon Tuesday voiced his concern over the expansion of Daesh terrorists into other Libyan cities after they have fled Sirte city.

In a report sent to the UN, Ban Ki-moon warned that the Daesh terrorist group has built sites outside the coastal city.

Also, he said that the recent defeats suffered by Daesh militants in Sirte have forced them to move their positions out of the coastal city and re-assemble into smaller cells across Libya and neighboring countries.

The number of Daesh militants in the Libyan cities of Sirte, Tripoli and Darnah range from 2000 to 5000, he added.
