The UN Security Council on Wednesday strongly condemned North Korea for a long-range rocket launch that violated a ban on the use of ballistic missile technology, dpa reported. The council said it planned to discuss \"appropriate measures\" against North Korea for the violation. \"The council demands that the Democratic People\'s Republic of Korea not proceed with any further launches using ballistic missile technology,\" said Ambassador Mohammed Loulichki of Morocco, the council president, following a closed-door meeting. Loulichki said the council plans to \"take actions accordingly in the event of the DPRK\'s makes further launches.\"
