The board of a uranium enrichment corporation Urenco on Thursday announced it has accepted the resignation of Dutch Prince Friso as CFO and Director, who has been in a coma since February this year. Accordin to a press release all parties agreed that the British/Dutch/German company needed continuity of its financial leadership and understood that Friso will not be able to return to his position as CFO in the near future due to his health condition. On Feb. 17 the now 44-year-old Prince was buried under an avalanche, while he was skiing in Austria. He was covered by snow for 25 minutes and had a cardiac arrest of 50 minutes. The lack of oxygen damaged his brains. It is not likely he will regain consciousness ever again. In March he was moved to a hospital in his residence in London. \"Friso made an invaluable contribution to our company since joining us in early 2011,\" Helmut Engelbrecht, CEO of Urenco, said. \"He provided strategic insight into the company\'s direction, enhanced its financial stewardship, and initiated impactful initiatives to strengthen the Group\'s financial management and sustainability.\" Friso is the second son of Dutch Queen Beatrix and the late Prince Claus and the younger brother of Willem-Alexander, heir of Beatrix. He has a wife and two daughters.
