US-led coalition conducts 36 strikes on Daesh in Syria, Iraq

US-led coalition forces have continued to attack Daesh terrorists in Syria and Iraq, Pentagon website reported according to a statement released by the Combined Joint Task Force Operation Inherent Resolve Friday.

In Syria, coalition military forces conducted six strikes using attack and ground-attack aircraft against Daesh targets near Ar Raqqah and Mar'a, where a bulldozer, five separate tactical units, two fighting positions and four vehicles were destroyed, the statement reported.

Additionally in Iraq, Coalition military forces conducted 30 strikes coordinated with and in support of the Government of Iraq using attack, ground-attack, and fighter aircraft against Daesh targets near Hit, Kisik, Mosul, Qayyarah, Sultan Abdallah, and Tal Afar, it added.

Strikes struck four Daesh tactical units, 51 boats, a command and control node, a weapons cache, a tunnel system, 18 modular oil refineries, two crude oil stills, two assembly area, a fighting position, a mortar system and a mortar position.

Strike assessments are based on initial reports. All aircraft returned to base safely, the Combined Joint Task Force Operation said.

The strikes were conducted as part of Operation Inherent Resolve, the operation to eliminate Daesh terrorist group and the threat they pose to Iraq, Syria, and the wider international community, the statement read.

The destruction of Daesh targets in Syria and Iraq further limits the terrorist group's ability to project terror and conduct operations, it added.
