On Friday, anti-government protesters clashed with security forces outside Muslim Brotherhood's Guidance Office in El-Mukattam, Cairo, after Islamists had threatened to set fire to the Egyptian Media Production City (EMPC). "The clashes between protesters and security forces outside the Muslim Brotherhood's Guidance Office are the outcome of the confusion that has taken over the country in the absence of state authority," Zakher told Arabstoday. The writer blamed the events on "the ruling regime's bankruptcy and its lack of vision and understanding," and urged the government to take control. "The word 'state' means primarily 'order.' What's happening in Egypt has no definition but disorder and the only explanation for it is that the regime is playing with fire," he added.
